To fulfil the ever-growing need for great plasterers, we run a professional plastering training course in London, for those who wish to specialise in this demanding and rewarding field. Our courses have been designed to cover all aspects of internal plastering.
Mac Plastering is always on the lookout for new talent and if, during the course, you show us your potential and passion for plastering, we may be in a position to offer you a permanent place in our team – with a salary range of between £140 and £250 per day! We’ve already welcomed many craftsmen with little experience to our team. By working with us, they have gained the skills necessary to become our next team member.
The Mac Plastering course
Part one: classroom and theory of plastering
The first two days will be held in a training studio and will cover:
- Plastering tools available on the market; what material to use and when
- Type of surfaces that are suitable for plastering
- Techniques of applying angle beads, taping and jointing
- Techniques for applying Multi-Finish to plaster walls and ceilings
- The correct movements and postures when plastering
(Under close supervision, you will be able to try your hand at all the techniques you’ve been taught.)
Part two: hands-on plastering training
In the next stage, you will be assigned a place on a building site where, under the supervision of our best professionals, you will test all the skills that you have learned so far. This will offer you real experience of those challenges you could face in an actual work environment.
It’s not just plastering walls and ceilings!
In addition to plastering walls and ceilings, we will teach you how to:
- Prepare surfaces before plastering
- Plaster large areas
- Plaster around windows and corners
- Consider teamwork and measurement.

Plastering may seem like an easy job to some, but when actually faced with the challenge you soon realise that it takes a lot of practice, patience and skill to complete the job to the highest standard. To ensure you’re ready for the world of plastering you’re welcome to stay with us and keep training until you feel you have the confidence to do the job on your own – free of charge! This is a great opportunity to gain even more knowledge and we think there is always space for improvement in our field.
